If You Don't Read to the Bottom ...

You'll miss out on how you can be part of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody story over the next few weeks. In addition to welcoming our own Denise Brodsky as this week's speaker, think about:

  • How you can support the FORE the Memories! Golf Tournament - the club's major fundraiser
  • Honoring our brave military personnel by supporting our April 10 USO visit
  • Signing up for next Friday's DeKalb Rotary Council breakfast
  • Enjoying each other's company at  our upcoming Wine Fellowship and/or Dunwoody Diner events
  • Smiling when you read about fellow Rotarian Tina Philpott, and about the difference we made with our work for Tapestri

It's all just down a bit farther in this email bulletin! Keep on reading!

This Week's Speaker
Denise Brodsky, Executive Director, Clubhouse Atlanta

Join us this Friday at the Embassy Suites to welcome our own Rotarian Denise Brodksy, Executive Director of Clubhouse Atlanta. This non-profit organization's mission is to provide an inviting place for adults living with a mental illness - an experience that gives them respect, dignity and courage to reach their potential as valued and contributing members of their community. Clubhouse Atlanta’s model is based on a set of Clubhouse International’s evidence-based standards embraced by over 340 Clubhouses worldwide. [more]

Golf Tournament Update
Join Chris Gutschenritter, Ashford Financial, as a Sponsor

We are excited to recognize and properly thank Chris Gutschenritter, Ashford Financial, as our Hole-in-One and our Ditty Bag Sponsor for the 2025 FORE! the Memories golf tournament (pictured with his 2023 foursome).

That said, we really need your help in gaining a sponsorship for the $5,000 Gold sponsor.   We also need an event sponsor for $2,500 Putting Contest and are looking and another $3,000 Silver sponsor. We also need help acquiring auction items. Read on for more ideas. And be sure to visit the FORE! the Memories – Rotary Club of Dunwoody Charity Golf Tournament website! [more]

Getting to Know You
Tina Philpot, Deep Ties to Dunwoody

Tina Philpot's dedication to our Rotary Club and the wider community shines brightly. Since joining in 2002, sponsored by Fred Bounds, Tina has embodied the spirit of "Service Above Self." Her favorite Rotary activity? Simply attending our weekly meetings, a testament to her genuine enjoyment of fellowship and connection.

Tina's professional journey is equally impressive. Starting part-time at Georgia Perimeter College in 1979, she ascended to Department Chair and Dean of the College of Business, culminating in five years of crucial work during the college's merger with Georgia State University. Retiring in 2020, her legacy in education remains profound.

A past club president (2016-2017), Tina's leadership has been invaluable. She's also a committed member of the Chamber of Commerce, representing both the university and our Rotary Club, and advocating for strong community ties. Her vision for our club is to be deeply integrated into the local landscape.

Beyond Rotary and professional life, Tina's roots run deep in Dunwoody where she has lived for the past 49 years. A member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church since 1979, she found more than a spiritual home; it's where she met her husband of 37 years in a singles group. Tina's consistent presence and commitment make her a true asset to our club.

Making a Difference
Remember the Backpacks ...
