2/2/19: I’m so proud of my Rotary Club!
This past Thursday, we were humbled, touched, and honored to be the recipient of Wheeler High’s MLK Award as a Community Partner!
Here are snippets from the nomination speech:
“The Rotary Club of East Cobb pledged over $57,000 to help build the AVID program at Wheeler High School. Their hope is to see this program flourish and help all students at Wheeler to see what their potential future could be. However, they were looking to do more than just help with AVID. In their 2.5 years of involvement at Wheeler, they have served on the STEAM Board, sponsored field trips, brought in guest speakers, helped families in need and served as volunteers in various capacities for the school. Rotarians are guided by principles call the Four Way Test. It directs what they think, say, and do.”
“...The Rotary Club of East Cobb embodies the persona of Martin Luther King, JR., a man who was not willing to accept the status quo but rather challenge to create a world better suited for all. Please join me in congratulating an organization that has become a part of the Wheeler Community and we look forward to having them here for many years to come.”
❤️We are deeply appreciative of this extraordinary acknowledgement from Wheeler and continue to be inspired by our partnership with them! ❤️
Thank You to All of Wheeler High’s Administration, Staff, Faculty, and Students!!!
