REAP (Reading is Essential for All People)

The Rotary Club of East Cobb fills a very important gap in our community as there are no other civic organizations in Cobb County that contribute to this entity. We are able to help better equip the teachers to deal with Dyslexia by partnering with this Non-Profit. Results show that reading scores improved significantly from teachers that received this additional training. REAP has trained 840 teachers who helped 30,660 readers in over 100 public schools. REAP trains Pre-K to 3rd Grade plus instructional coaches, intervention teachers, special educations teachers and even a principal. REAP is a Non-Profit that provides funding to schools primarily in Cobb County but also includes schools for the city of Marietta, Decatur and Atlanta. Many students that have Dyslexia may not have been tested because they can't afford tutors or private schools. Teaching children with Dyslexia requires specific training. Providing Grant money helps address a much needed overlooked and underfunded area.
