The Rotary Club of East Cobb fills a very important need in our community by providing Grant funding toward the construction of a new playground in early 2020. There are no other civic organizations in Cobb County that are providing funding to this school.
Our mission is to help children with language-based learning disabilities reach their full potential by providing individualized education, enrichment, and life skills training in a nurturing environment.
This component of our curriculum helps students enhance life skills, along with their social skills in a one on one, small group and large group setting. Students have the opportunity to learn social skills while participating in lunch bunch led by a licensed Speech Therapist from Greater Atlanta Speech and Language Clinic. During the day, social skills are also taught through various teachable moments. These skills include, but are not limited to, teamwork, friendship, manners and building personal character.
Other life skills lessons focus on community involvement, leisure time, health care, vocational/technical options and living arrangements through hands-on, real life application.
All students have computer lab access with supervision at least one time per week.
Students receive Physical Education with our Physical Therapist and each student has the program adapted to their needs.
Students visit the library at least one time per week. This time is used for group reading as well as individual reading time. Books can be checked out from the library.
Therapy is usually one-to-one with your child to maximize therapeutic time and ensure goal mastery.
Please direct all inquiries regarding therapy to Michelle Needle at Greater Atlanta Speech and Language Clinics.
