We have selected this project as a Top Service Project for several reasons: It is a direct result from our annual fundraiser each year. The event has grown to the point that it is no longer staged during our normal breakfast meeting. For the first time, this year, we will be hosting a dinner program, off site, and will invite many dignitaries including: PDG Jim Squire, ADG Fred Ferrand, Cobb County Commissioner Mike Boyce, the mayor of Marietta, Bob Ott, Sponsors/Business owners from the community that made generous donations that will go back to the Non-Profit organizations in Cobb County, Print media types such as Marietta Daily Journal newspaper, EastCobber magazine, Cobb Life magazine, other Rotarians from Marietta clubs etc. Check presentations will be handled by an Emcee, Ross Cavitt, plus a photo image from a large erase type check showing the image of the Non-Profit receiving the funds with a Rotarian or Sponsor. We have been blessed to receive free use of a facility from a local church with whom we have a connection through Must Ministries. Also, another connection we have, Carrabbas, a Italian Restaurant, will cater the event and only charge us cost for the food. We anticipate this to create a new tradition for our club for many years!
Monies raised from Dog Days Fundraiser will be awarded to local non-profit recipients who sent in applications and were vetted by the Dog Day Grant Committee. These monies will be distributed that evening according to determination of grants.
