This item is our club's #1 (top pick) choice for our annual signature Service Project.

Our club organized and held a 5k runner race on August 3, 2019 in partnership with YMCA called the 5K Dog Days race. Our members raised over $92,500 from corporate and individual sponsors and involved over 1000 people from the local community (including runners). Volunteers included: Wheeler High School Avid students and teachers, East Cobb Robotics, Boy Scouts, and First Responders. Our Grants committee allocated money raised from this event to Non-Profit charities in the community for specific projects. We believe we raised the image of Rotary significantly within our community and positioned Rotary as a major force behind impactful service projects and initiatives in our community.

Partner Involvement
YMCA Fire and Police , EMT as volunteers Boy Scouts volunteered that day along with Interact Clubs of Wheeler and Walton High Schools. Avid club volunteered that day as well. Publix, Kroger and Trader Joes donated food items for runners including bananas, ice, water, etc.
