Our own Erica Bowen has given us a call to action this morning on behalf of LiveSafe Resources! This is a wonderful way to
get involved and will make a HUGE impact!
Founded in 1917, LiveSafe
Resources (formerly the YWCA of Northwest Georgia) is committed to
providing safety and healing to those impacted by domestic violence and
sexual assault within our community. They provide emergency shelter,
transitional housing, counseling, legal advocacy, a 24-hour crisis line
and many other services to empower those we serve to rebuild their
lives.
----- Project Shine Bright -----
Long story short, their funds are extremely limited, so they're hoping to get volunteers to
sign up for various shifts to help with everything from painting to
moving furniture to general handyman tasks. The project is a really important one and will bring a lot of
life back to the shelter.
There are 4-hour shifts available from Friday, July 7th all the way through Monday, July 17th, and the staff and board
anticipate needing 100+ volunteers over the course of the 2 weeks.
